What makes an alpaca throw unique?
Alpaca wool is soft, natural, strong and amazingly warm material. Alpaca fiber contains microscopic air pockets which create lightweight garments with high insulation capabilities. Thanks to these features alpaca throws and alpaca plaids are thin and lightweight. For instance, the alpaca throw with size 135x175cm weights only 550 grams, but its thickness comparable with normal wool scarf. If you wish to have a sheep wool throw or plaid with same thermal capabilities, your garment will be several times heavier. It is because alpaca wool is 5 times warmer than sheep's wool.
Benefits of alpaca wool throws are making them ideal not only for home use, but also for travelling.

A few tips on buying an alpaca sweaters.
- alpaca sweater should feel silky between the fingertips;
- if it stinks when wet, then it's mixed with llama wool;
- if it's shiny, it's acrylic.
The best test is to pinch off a few fibers and burn them. (It's worth noting, however, that it's probably not wise to be pinching and burning sweater fibers in the marketplace before you make a purchase.) If it burns and releases a pungent odor, it's the real deal. If it shrinks into a tight plastic ball, it's acrylic!
